A man has been issued with an infringement for breaching the Public Health Order after allegedly spitting on a police officer in the state's Murray River region yesterday.
About 4.30pm (Wednesday 25 August 2021), officers attached to Murray River Police District attended a home on Wellington Street, Deniliquin, to arrest a person on an outstanding warrant.
Upon arrival, two other men at the premises allegedly became aggressive towards police, and as officers were placing the arrested person into the police vehicle, it will be alleged one of the men spat on a male Constable.
The 22-year-old was issued with an infringement notice for not comply with noticed direction re: spitting/coughing and fined $5000.
