Man killed by falling tree at Tungkillo, SA

Police will be preparing a report for the Coroner following the death of a man at Tungkillo this morning, according to SA Police.

Emergency services were called to Gladigau Road, Tungkillo about 11am on Monday 11 July by reports a person had been struck by a fallen tree.

It is understood the man had been trying to clear a fallen tree from the road when he was fatally struck by a second tree.

Despite efforts of paramedics, sadly, the 71-year-old man from Tungkillo was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police wish to thank paramedics and CFS volunteers for their assistance in this matter.

Heavy rain and strong winds are forecast to continue across the state and Police urge the public to take care on the roads and near large trees during storm activity.
