Man missing in flood water at Lismore

A search will recommence tomorrow to locate a man that is believed to be missing in flood water in the state's north east.

About 4pm (Sunday 27 February 2022), officers from Richmond Police District were near Brewster Street and Uralba Street, Lismore, when they saw and heard a man calling for assistance from flood water nearby.

Police lost sight of the man a short time later.

Police Rescue entered the water and searched the area; however, the man has not been located.

A search of the surrounding area was undertaken involving local police and the NSW State Emergency Service.

The search was suspended due to flood water dangers and will recommence tomorrow morning (Monday 28 February 2022).
