Man seriously assaulted in Hadfield

Police are appealing for public assistance and are hoping to identify a man after a man was seriously assaulted outside a supermarket in Hadfield last month.

Police have been told the victim, an 18-year-old man, was walking out of the store on the corner of West Street and Guem Street just after 7.30pm on Saturday 29 June.

It is believed an unknown man bumped into him and after a short exchange, the offender turned and punched the victim to the head.

The victim was knocked unconscious and fell to the ground before hitting his head on the pavement.

The Hadfield man was taken to hospital with serious injuries and suffered a broken jaw.

The offender ran from the scene.

Moreland Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating and have released images of a man that may be able to assist with their enquiries.
