Man seriously assaulted near Heyington Railway Station

Police have released images of two males after a 60-year-old man was seriously assaulted near Heyington Railway Station in Toorak yesterday afternoon.

Investigators have been told staff on the train spoke to the two males in relation to antisocial behaviour before they exited the train at the station and assaulted the man nearby about 5.30pm.

The man was kicked and punched to the head and chest before the unknown offenders fled in an unknown direction.

He was taken to hospital where he is being treated for head injuries.

Detectives have released the below images of two males who they believe may be able to assist with their investigation.

One of the males was wearing a red baseball cap, grey jumper and black shorts.

The other male was wearing a white baseball cap, a grey jumper and cargo pants.

Police are urging both men to hand themselves into police.
