A man has been seriously injured after a crash south of Sydney yesterday, NSW Police say.
About 10pm today, emergency services were called to Picton Road, Cordeaux, north east of Wollongong, after reports of a crash.
Initial inquiries suggest, a 25-year-old man stopped to assist the driver of a Holden Commodore, when it was hit by a Hyundai Elantra, trapping the man between the Commodore and his own Isuzu Dmax.
The man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedic for serious injuries to his legs before he was transferred to Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition. His injuries are not considered life threatening.
Officers from Wollongong Local Area Command attended and will investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
The driver of the Hyundai, a 27-year-old man, was transported to Wollongong Hospital where he underwent mandatory testing.
Police are urging anyone with information in relation to the crash to contact police via Crime Stoppers.
