Man speeding with children in car stopped by police in Hurstville

A driver has been charged after allegedly travelling more than twice the speed limit with two children in the car in Sydney’s south yesterday, NSW Police say.

Just before 4pm (Wednesday 17 January 2018), a white BMW Coupe travelling eastbound on Queens Road, Hurstville was detected travelling more than 120km/h in a 60km/h zone.

Police from Traffic and Highway Patrol stopped the car in Kenyon Road, Bexley and spoke to the driver, a 36-year-old Queensland man.

In the back seat of the vehicle were two boys, aged five and eight.

The man was issued a court attendance notice for driving at a speed dangerous, driving in a manner dangerous, and exceeding the speed limit over 45km/h,

His licence was suspended on the spot and he is due to appear before Sutherland Local Court on Tuesday 13 February 2018.
