Man stabbed after fight in Wollongong

A man has been stabbed after a fight near Wollongong this morning, NSW Police say.

About 2.30am (Saturday 26 May 2018), two men were at a service station on Rothery Street, Bellambi, when they began to argue.

During the argument, a 20-year-old man was stabbed in the chest by the other man, who then left the area.

He attended Wollongong Hospital before being transferred to St George Hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Officers from Wollongong Police District established a crime scene and launched an investigation into the incident.

Inquiries are continuing.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
