Police have commenced an investigation after a man was stabbed during an altercation in the Illawarra area last night.
About 8.15pm (Wednesday 17 February 2021), police were called to a medical centre on the Princes Highway at Dapto, following reports a man had suffered a stab wound to the arm.
Officers from Lake Illawarra Police District were told the man, believed to be aged in his 40s, had suffered a stab wound to the arm following an earlier altercation with a group of up to 10 men near a licensed venue at Dapto.
The man has been taken to Wollongong Hospital in a stable condition for treatment. His injuries are not considered to be life threatening.
A crime scene has been established, as officers from Lake Illawarra Police District commence an investigation.
