Man struck by van, NSW

A man has been taken to hospital with head injuries after being struck by a van in Georges River, NSW Police say.

About 11.15am (Monday 20 August 2018), emergency services attended the Princes Highway at O’Meara Street, Georges River, and found a man, believed to be in his 80s, suffering a laceration to his head after being struck by a van.

The driver of the van stopped and rendered assistance until the arrival of NSW Ambulance paramedics.

He was taken to St George Hospital in a critical but stable condition.

The male driver was also taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from St George Police Area Command will investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash and are appealing for anyone with information, or any witnesses to come forward.
