A man has been charged over an alleged home invasion and a teenage boy has been charged with firearm, drug and other offences in Sydney's south west.
About 3am on Tuesday 6 May 2025, officers from Campbelltown Police Area Command attended a home on Copperfield Drive, Rosemeadow, after three men allegedly threatened a 24-year-old female occupant with a firearm during a home invasion. The men left the home empty-handed and it will be alleged the incident was targeted.
Following extensive inquiries, detectives – with the assistance of the Tactical Operations Unit – executed a search warrant at a home in Macquarie Fields at 6.30am yesterday (Thursday 15 May 2025).
A 17-year-old boy was arrested and it will be alleged police located firearms and drugs at the location.
Shortly after 10am, police arrested a 18-year-old man along Malcolm Way, Rosemeadow. Police will allege the man was involved in the home invasion.
They were taken to Campbelltown Police Station, where the 17-year-old boy was charged with nine offences,
- Fail to comply digital evidence access order direction
- Possess shortened firearm (not pistol) without authority
- Possess unauthorised prohibited firearm
- Acquire firearm part without authority to do so
- Possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority
- Goods in personal custody suspected being stolen
- Possess prohibited drug, and
- Supply prohibited drug (two counts).
The boy was refused bail to appear at a children's court today (Friday 16 May 2025), where he was remanded in custody to re-appear at the same court on Monday (19 May 2025).
The man was charged with robbery while armed with dangerous weapon, and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity. He was refused bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court today.
He was refused bail to return to the same court on Wednesday 9 July 2025.
