Man to face court over warrants in Lake Illawarra

Police from Lake Illawarra Local Area Command have charged a man over five outstanding warrants, NSW Police say.

About 2.15pm yesterday, police sighted a man wanted on five outstanding warrants driving on Anthony Street, Lake Illawarra. After a short foot pursuit, a 26-year-old man was arrested.

The man was taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station where he was charged with five outstanding warrants for property and traffic offences, possess unauthorised firearm, larceny, assault officer in execution of duty and two counts of resist officer in the execution of their duty and never licensed person drive vehicle on road.

He was refused bail to appear at Wollongong Local Court today.
