Man treated for burns after shed fire - Riverstone

A man remains in hospital after being injured when a building caught fire at Riverstone this morning.

Emergency services were called to a home on McCulloch Street about 5am (Sunday 3 May 2020), after a neighbour saw a fire in a backyard shed.

He ran to alert the residents and found a 56-year-old man inside the building injured.

Officers from Quakers Hill Police Area Command, officers from Fire and Rescue NSW, and NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to the scene. Fire fighters extinguished the blaze a short time later.

The man has been taken to Westmead Hospital where he is being treated for burns and the effects of smoke inhalation. Police have been told the man's injuries are non-life-threatening.
