Man charged with firearm and weapon offences following search warrant in Miller

A man has been charged with alleged firearm and weapon offences following a search warrant at Miller yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 5pm today, officers from Green Valley Local Area Command attended a unit on Collinsvale Place for an unrelated matter.

While at the premises, officers allegedly located a loaded homemade firearm, barrels and an improvised cross bow inside the unit.

A 21-year-old man was arrested at the scene and a search warrant applied for.

Police then executed the search warrant and allegedly located multiple rounds of ammunition, several homemade firearms, a homemade electrical conductive device (‘Taser’), and other prohibited weapons including a cross bow and a sling shot.

A computer and a mobile phone were also seized for forensic analysis.

The man was taken to Green Valley Police Station where he was charged with manufacture firearm, manufacture prohibited weapon (x2) and possess ammunition.

He was refused bail to appear before Liverpool Local Court today tomorrow.
