Man's body recovered from floodwaters near Forbes, NSW

A report is being prepared for the Coroner after search teams recovered the body of a man in floodwaters south-west of Forbes this evening today, NSW Police say.

After the search operation was suspended about 5pm yesterday (6 October 2015), it resumed about 7am today.

Today’s search involved officers from Lachlan Local Area Command, assisted by NSW Police Rescue, Water Police and volunteers.

Just before 5pm today, searchers found the body of a man beside a makeshift boat ramp.

The body has been recovered by search teams. Although the body is yet to be formally identified it is believed to be that of 49-year-old Robert Linnane.

Robert Linnane, aged 49, was reported missing on Saturday 1 October 2016 and a wide-scale search involving more than 100 volunteers commenced in the Burcher/Nerang Cowal/Lake Cowal area.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
