A big-hearted Manuka woman has shared her first priority is to fulfil her dream of sponsoring a child through a charity organisation after discovering she'd scored $200,000 in yesterday's Lucky Lotteries draw.
The Canberra resident held the 1st Prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1751, drawn Wednesday 7 January 2026. She looks forward to a sweet $200,000 prize.
When we called to confirm the thrilling news, the winning woman had just checked her ticket.
"I'm actually shaking like a leaf now!" she gasped.
"When I first checked my ticket, I thought I was seeing things.
"I can't think straight right now.
"I'm the sort of person who's usually happy with a $10 or $20 win, so this is just incredible!
"Oh my goodness. I don't know if I can keep working today."
With $200,000 heading her way, the generous winner wasted no time sharing her plan to help give an Australian child a better future.
"First thing, I want to sponsor a child through a charity organisation. There's a lot of kids out there in Australia that need help," she said.
"It's something I've been wanting to do, and now I can make it a reality.
"It'll certainly help in many other areas too."
Her winning entry of five consecutive numbers was purchased at Manuka Newsagency, 38 Franklin Street, Manuka.
Manuka Newsagency owner Matt Nobbs shared he was thrilled to hear his outlet had sold a major prize winning ticket worth $200,000.
"It's been a long time coming and we couldn't be more thrilled for our winner," he said.
"We hope this can be the start of many more winning tickets here.
"Congratulations to our winner!"
