Marino fire investigation, South Australia

Southern District detectives are investigating a fire at the Marino Conservation Park last night.

About 10.50pm Friday 4 December emergency services were called the Marino Conservation Park near Bundarra Drive after reports of a scrub fire heading west.

The Seaford rail line was shut down while fire fighters battled the blaze, thankfully no infrastructure or nearby homes on The Cove Road were damaged. Approximately three hectares of grass and scrub was burnt and police are investigating the cause of the fire.

Detectives and Crime Scene Officers returned to the scene today (Saturday) and have not yet been able to determine the cause of the fire, investigations into if it was deliberately lit are ongoing.
