The former Mascot Depot at 130 King Street is one step closer to being turned into a recreational facility following a decision at the Council Meeting on Wednesday 22 October.
Council determined that a draft proposal to turn the Mascot Depot into a recreational facility should now go on public exhibition and a report presented to a future Council Meeting.
The Mascot Depot will soon relocate to a more suitable location in Banksmeadow where Council has acquired a property at 1-7 Green Street.
This has created an opportunity to repurpose the Mascot Depot building, located in the northeastern corner of L'Estrange Park with frontage to King Street, into a community recreation facility.
Community Engagement on Council's proposal is set to take place in the first half of 2026.
Community feedback on the project will help refine Council's proposal to convert the building into a sports and recreational facility to support the needs of Mascot's growing population.
