Mayor Cr Bill Moar

At Swan Hill Rural City Council's August meeting the position taken by Council in respect to COVID-19 vaccinations was adopted, Councils position is:

Council supports and is prepared to actively promote its support for increased vaccination rates within all communities. That said, Swan Hill Rural City Council also recognises that it is an individual's choice to vaccinate or not vaccinate.

In line with Council's position on COVID-19 vaccinations, the adoption of conducting "hybrid" Council meetings and Council assemblies was passed at the recent October meeting. This decision will allow virtual participation where staff or Councillors are prevented from attending in person, because of their vaccination status, or any other reason.

Providing this level of flexibility during uncertain times, enables Council to continue to represent the community and make critical decisions, while allowing for a diverse and truly representative Council, that reflects all of the community that they serve.

Council continues to operate in line with the Chief Health Officer orders and will maintain the current level of governance and continuity of service delivery to our community - it is business

as usual.
