Mayor welcomes Heal Care donation

Townsville Mayor Jenny Hill has thanked Townsville Private Clinic for its generous donation to the city's flood recovery.

National health provider Healthe Care and its staff are donating $47,000 to the community.

Mayor Jenny Hill said the business rallied to help its flood-affected employees in Townsville.

"10 doctors and staff at the Townsville Private Clinic were affected by the floods," Cr Hill said.

"Their colleagues raised money quickly and Healthe Care matched the figure so it's a significant contribution.

"They used fundraising favourites including sausage sizzles, raffles and cake stalls."

Cr Hill said the donation will go to helping local residents in our city recover from this unprecedented flood.

"Healthe Care has told us they're keen to contribute and this donation will help families and businesses," Cr Hill said.

"It is great to see a national health provider reaching out to help its Townsville employees in their time of need.

"The floods were unprecedented and it's great to have this sort of support from a major hospital operator."
