MEDIA ADVISORY: Police address media after armed robbery at Orange

Police will address the media in Orange this morning after a licensed premise was allegedly robbed by a man armed with a rifle over the weekend.

About 5.15am Saturday (20 July 2019), a 64-year-old man attended a licensed premise on Summer Street, Orange, to begin his shift as a cleaner.

It is alleged he was approached by an unknown man wielding a knife and a firearm, who bound him and made him lie down in a bathroom.

It is alleged the 64-year-old was released by the man, who then left the premise with cash and was last seen running towards the railway line.

Police were notified and attended along with NSW Ambulance paramedics who treated the man for a small laceration to his wrist.

A crime scene was established as inquiries by detectives from Central West Police District continue.
