Men charged following inmate search operation in Goulburn

Two men have been charged following investigations into items seized during an inmate search operation at a correctional centre in Goulburn earlier this year, NSW Police say.

A mobile phone, two sim cards, electronic storage devices and readers and several offensive implements were found during the Corrective Services NSW search operation on Tuesday 23 May 2017.

Following inquiries and forensic examination, investigators from The Hume Local Area Command today (Wednesday 22 November 2017), charged a 38-year-old man and a 51-year-old man.

The 38-year-old man was charged with inmate use/possess mobile phone and two counts of possessing an offensive implement. He is due to appear at Goulburn Local Court on Wednesday 29 November 2017.

The 51-year-old man was charged with inmate use mobile phone and possessing offensive implement and will appear at Goulburn Local Court on Wednesday 17 January 2018.

The men continue to remain in the custody of Corrective Services NSW.
