Men injured in targeted shooting at Liverpool

A man is undergoing emergency surgery and another man was injured after shots were fired at a Liverpool house this morning.

Police were called to the Alderson Avenue address around 2.20am (Wednesday 4 September 2019) after reports of shots being fired.

When officers arrived, they found a number of damaged windows but no sign of any victims. Police are treating the shooting as targeted.

Two men, aged 26 and 33, presented at Liverpool Hospital around 3am with gunshot wounds.

The 26-year-old man is undergoing emergency surgery while the 33-year-old Is undergoing medical examination. Both are known to police.

Officers from Liverpool Police Area Command are investigating the events leading up to the shots being fired. A crime scene has been established at the house and this is being examined by specialist personnel.
