Men released after Alexandra hit-run

Two men have been released from police custody following a fatal hit-run in Alexandra early this morning.

A 23-year-old Fawcett man has been released pending further investigation.

A 20-year-old Alexandra man has been released and is now being treated as a witness.

The men were interviewed after a 20-year-old male pedestrian was located lying on the road on Hall Street with life-threatening injuries about 12.15am.

The Mount Duneed man died en route to hospital.

A Toyota Hilux, believed to have been involved in the incident, has also been recovered.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the incident.
