Message from Chief Executive Officer/Chief Officer

Everything we do at CFA is underpinned by our values; and it's these values being lived by our people that our Spirit of CFA Awards celebrates.

Message from the Chief Executive Officer/Chief Officer

Nominations opened this week for our 2020 Spirit of CFA Awards. I encourage you to nominate individuals and groups that you believe have made an outstanding and significant contribution to CFA and/or their community in alignment with our values.

The Spirit of CFA Awards are held every two years to recognise excellence in our volunteers and staff and highlight the best of CFA.

They provide the opportunity for us to acknowledge the valuable and diverse contribution our people make across the emergency services sector; those who go above and beyond the call of duty for their communities; and those who live and breathe CFA.

Along with recognising the individuals, the Spirit of CFA Awards also showcase to the public the quality and depth of service our volunteers and staff provide.

The quality of entries for our inaugural Spirit of CFA Awards in 2018 was outstanding. Every finalist was a shining example of how our people proudly represent CFA within their communities and beyond. They were humble people who don't seek the spotlight, and don't normally have an opportunity to be recognised.

I know there are many more CFA people whose contribution exemplifies our values and whose efforts are integral to us achieving our mission. They are proud to live our values because they embody what it means to be part of CFA.

Do you know a CFA person or group that deserves to be recognised in our 2020 Spirit of CFA Awards?

Take the opportunity to show your pride and nominate them so that they receive the recognition they deserve. Visit the Spirit of CFA Awards website for more details. Nominations close 3 January 2020.

Successful recipients will be announced at a special event in Creswick on Sunday 31 May 2020.
