Methamphetamine Seizure - Alice Springs

Detectives from the Southern Investigations Division have seized 100 grams of methamphetamine in Alice Springs.

Detective Senior Sergeant Peter Malley said a 36-year-old male was arrested yesterday following a search warrant on a property in Sadadeen, Northern Territory Police say.

"Police found methamphetamine, cannabis, drug paraphernalia and $12,000 in cash," he said.

The man was charged with:

  • Possess schedule 1 dangerous drug (commercial)
  • Supply schedule 1 dangerous drug (commercial)
  • Possess cannabis
  • Possess schedule 4 substance
  • Possess thing to administer drug (x2)
  • Possess property – commissioner of an offence
  • Breach of bail

He was remanded in custody to appear in the Alice Springs Local Court today.

"We are very happy to have removed a significant amount of methamphetamine off the streets of Alice Springs. This drug takes a significant toll on our community, often with devastating effects.
