Micah Projects affirms survivors in the face of the High Court George Pell decision

Micah Projects acknowledges the individual and collective impact of the George Pell decision on survivors of child sexual abuse. CEO Karyn Walsh offers the following quotes:

“Our message this Easter is to believe survivors – honouring the dignity and grace of Witness J and all survivors.

The decision was based on a very specific legal argument. It doesn’t mean that Witness J and each of you do not remain a witness of truth.

Over this time of social isolation, try to remain connected. Each day, recognise your courage on this journey to bring to light to the injustices you have endured and the misuse of power by many institutions, including the Catholic Church.

The decision of the High Court does not change your truth and your desire for justice.”

Micah Projects is a not-for-profit organisation committed to providing services and opportunities in the community to create justice and respond to injustice. They support and give a voice to people experiencing adversity due to poverty, homelessness, mental illness, domestic violence, disability and all forms of discrimination.
