Regional Development Minister Alannah MacTiernan has paid tribute to Mid West Development Commission chief executive officer Gavin Treasure's contribution to the region.
Mr Treasure announced today that he will move on from the position at the end of the year after eight years in the role.
Under Mr Treasure's leadership, the Mid West Development Commission has delivered a number of important initiatives to diversify and grow the Mid-West economy - with a particular focus on tourism and aquaculture.
Recruitment will begin shortly for a new CEO for the Mid West Development Commission.
As stated by Regional Development Minister Alannah MacTiernan:
"Gavin has been a real contributor to the Mid-West.
"His focus on driving new opportunities has helped to progress major initiatives like tourism at the Abrolhos Islands and significant aquaculture development in the region.
"Gavin has been great at working across government, community and industry to deliver the best result for the Mid-West, and we wish him well into the future."
