Migrant Information Day Recap: Bayside

Bayside Council hosted Migrant Information Day at Rockdale Town Hall on Wednesday 7 October in partnership with Advance Diversity Services and Georges River Council.

The free event connected new migrants and refugees with information on housing, health, employment, education and government services to support their settlement in the local community.

Initiated by the St George Multicultural Network more than 20 years ago, Migrant Information Day provides an important opportunity for new arrivals to learn about local services and build community connections.

The day featured information stalls, cultural performances, health and hearing checks, and a cooking hub demonstration by MasterChef contestant Emily Sue in partnership with SBS Media Hub.

Council's Engagement team provided translated resources, Environment & Resilience hosted activities and Rockdale Library gave library tours and bilingual Storytime.
