Mildura attempted armed robbery

Detectives from Mildura Crime Investigation Unit have released a digital face composite as part of their ongoing investigation into an attempted armed robbery in Mildura in July.

Investigators have been told a man and woman were driving along Chaffey Track towards Eleventh Street when they observed a vehicle come up behind them about 8pm on 12 July.

The pair pulled over to let the white Holden VP Commodore sedan pass, however it continued to follow them.

A short time later the pair pulled over again and stopped, the victim got out of his car and an unknown man got out of the Commodore.

He approached the victim armed with an axe and grabbed him while making demands for his phone and wallet.

The victim managed to break free before returning to his vehicle and fleeing.

Detectives have released a digital face composite image of a man who they believe can assist with their enquiries.

He is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, about 181cm tall, with a stocky build, dark hair and was unshaven.

The victim, a 24-year-old man and his 23-year-old female passenger were not injured as a result of the incident.
