Nominations are now open for Mildura Rural City Council's Australia Day Awards in the following categories:
- Citizen of the Year
- Young Citizen of the Year
- Community Event or Project of the Year
Mayor Cr Helen Healy said the high-profile awards were an opportunity for the community to ensure local people and groups received the recognition they deserved.
"We have so many amazing individuals and groups within our community doing amazing things, and yet I suspect only a small number of them receive the acknowledgment they rightly deserve," Cr Healy said.
"Our Australia Day Awards are a chance to put forward these people and projects so they can be recognised for their efforts."
Nominations can be made by visiting www.mildura.vic.gov.au/awards and can be submitted until 5pm on Friday 31 October this year.

People making nominations are encouraged to provide as much information as possible as it is this information that forms the majority of the assessment process.
