Mill Street Roadworks: Bayside

A planned three-day re-sheeting project in Mill Street, Carlton will unfortunately require further rectification works as we need to fix an underlying safety issue with the road pavement.

While preparing to lay the new road surface it was revealed that the subgrade level is saturated with water which will impact and de-stabilise the new surface if not repaired during this process.

The water-affected sections of the road pavement will be excavated and replaced later this week.

Following the reinstatement of the base layer it will need 2-3 weeks to settle and then the final asphalt top layer will be laid over the course of one shift.

The road will remain open to traffic.

We apologise for the inconvenience, but it is necessary and unavoidable, and we are working to fix it as quickly as possible.
