Millmerran Sports Centre Roof Replacement Begins Soon

Toowoomba Region Sports Precinct

Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) will soon start early works at the Millmerran Indoor Sports Centre in preparation for the replacement of the roof.

TRC's Property Services portfolio spokesperson Councillor Trevor Manteufel said he was pleased Council had hit this milestone in the project.

"Council has been wanting to complete this project for the Millmerran community for a while, with the project's design completed in the 2024/25 financial year. So, it's exciting to know construction is right around the corner and we will soon be able to deliver this project for the community," Cr Manteufel said.

The Millmerran Indoor Sports Centre roof replacement is part of the 2025/26 Capital Works Program for which TRC has budgeted $750,000 to complete.

Due to wear and deterioration over time, the roof sheeting, insulation and stormwater infrastructure in the main roof has been damaged, rendering it no longer fit for purpose.

"We need to make sure all of our TRC facilities are fit and safe for use which is why this project is a priority for Council," Cr Manteufel said.

The construction works are expected to take approximately 12 weeks to complete, subject to favourable weather conditions, during which time the Millmerran Indoor Sports Centre will be closed to the public.

TRC will post signage around the Millmerran Indoor Sports Centre to inform the community about upcoming changes to operating hours due to construction timelines.

"I would like to thank the Millmerran community for their patience whilst we undergo this important repair work," Cr Manteufel said.
