Mine Land Rehabilitation in Latrobe Valley

Interested in learning more about rehabilitating mine sites in the Latrobe Valley?

The Mine Land Rehabilitation Authority is holding two online community webinars in February to update locals on the implementation of the Latrobe Valley Regional Rehabilitation Strategy.

At the first webinar at 5.30pm on Tuesday, 2 February, the Department of Land Water and Planning (DELWP) will outline work undertaken to guide the use of climate change scenarios for mine rehabilitation. The session will also cover how the Latrobe Valley's water is managed and users' water entitlements and rights are protected.

The second webinar at 5.30pm on Tuesday, 9 February, DELWP will explain alternative water sources and the options that may be considered, and why. The Department of Jobs Precincts and Regions will provide an overview on its work identifying non-water and contingency rehabilitation options if sufficient water is not available.

A question-and-answer session will be incorporated into each session.
