Minerals demand sparks exploration spending boom

New data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) shows minerals exploration spending across Victoria has reached an unprecedented level, topping $52.1 million for the June 2021 quarter.

It's the highest quarterly expenditure ever recorded in the state and a 40 per cent increase on the June quarter in 2020.

Minerals exploration in Victoria shows no signs of slowing either with Minister for Resources Jaala Pulford announcing that Earth Resources Regulation has issued a minerals exploration licence to Stavely Minerals.

The licence issued following the Stavely Ground Release in 2018 permits Stavely Minerals to search for minerals in an area 25 kilometres west of Ararat.
