Minister needs to admit 300 TasNetworks jobs are going

Tasmanian Labor

True to form, Energy Minister Guy Barnett continues to be dishonest about job losses at TasNetworks.

Minister Barnett knows full well that there will be around 300 redundancies - about one quarter of all employees.

In fact, he also knows that redundancies have already started.

It beggars belief that this Minister is so dishonest that he just won't admit that so many jobs are going.

This is one of the biggest job culls in recent memory and flies in the face of the Minister's claim that he is building a bigger energy sector in Tasmania.

At the same time as the Minister claims he will oversee the building of a hydrogen sector, new wind generation and Project Marinus, the business responsible for Tasmania's energy network is slashing a quarter of its workforce.
