Export Development Canada (EDC) helps Canadian businesses reach and succeed in markets around the world by providing the products and services they need to grow.

EDC's work is key in supporting a strong, sustainable and inclusive economy in Canada, creating good middle-class jobs at home and abroad and contributing to long-term growth.

To ensure EDC continues to have the strong leadership it needs to deliver on its mandate, the Honourable Mary Ng, Minister of International Trade, Export Promotion, Small Business and Economic Development, today announced the reappointment of Mairead Lavery as EDC's president and chief executive officer until February 4, 2025.

Ms. Lavery has served in these roles at EDC since February 5, 2019, having joined in 2014 as senior vice president of the Business Development Group.

During Ms. Lavery's time leading EDC, she has played an integral role in supporting Canada's pandemic response and has worked tirelessly to strengthen EDC's support of Canadian businesses. Ms. Lavery has also overseen EDC's ambitious climate change initiatives, including its objective to achieve net zero by 2050.

Her reappointment as president and CEO will enable EDC to continue its critical work helping Canadian businesses reduce financial risk and succeed in new markets.
