Yesterday, the Honourable Maninder Sidhu, Minister of International Trade, spoke with Piyush Goyal, India's Minister of Commerce and Industry.
In advance of Prime Minister Mark Carney's upcoming visit to India, the meeting reaffirmed Canada and India's shared commitment to strengthening bilateral trade and investment ties. The ministers exchanged views on advancing negotiations toward a Canada-India comprehensive economic partnership agreement, as announced by Prime Minister Carney and Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the last G20 Leaders' Summit, in November 2025.
