MinterEllison Advises Johns Lyng Group on $70M Fundraise for Acquisitions

The Johns Lyng Group, a leading company in the property services industry, has announced it is raising $70 million to fund the acquisition of two key companies: Smoke Alarms Australia and Link Fire Holdings.

Smoke Alarms Australia is a leading provider of smoke alarms, electrical and gas compliance, testing and maintenance services with 172 employees, servicing approximately 284,000 active residential customers. Link Fire Holdings is a leading fire safety measures provider servicing Victoria and regional NSW.

The above acquisitions align strategically with Johns Lyng Group's objectives, as they add value to their strata management business and set the foundations for its fifth growth pillar of 'essential home services'.

MinterEllison has been engaged to advise on the acquisition of Smoke Alarms Australia, the fully underwritten institutional placement and the non-underwritten share purchase plan, all announced on 5 July.

Heading the deal are MinterEllison M&A partners Sudharshan Senathirajah and Bart Oude-Vrielink.

Sudharshan Senathirajah said, "We are delighted to continue our advisory role with our long standing client, the Johns Lyng Group, on this transaction which forms an integral part of its growth strategy in the 'essential home services' market.

The Johns Lyng Group has a very clear and focused vision to become a full turnkey solution for homeowner, property managers and strata managers. MinterEllison looks forward to continuing to support the Johns Lyng Group on its growth strategy journey, " he added.

The institutional placement and acquisition of Smoke Alarms Australia is expected to complete in the first quarter of FY2023-24.
