Missing 12-year-old girl, Newport

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a 12-year-old girl reported missing in the Newport area today.

The girl was last seen in Newport at around 4.30pm and is possibly now in the Brisbane City area.

She has not made any contact with family or friends since and they have concerns for her welfare due to her behaviour being out of character.

The girl (pictured) is described as approximately 160cm, fair complexion, with a skinny build, brown hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing red shorts and shirt (similar to that pictured) with a black jumper tied around her waist.

Police urge the girl or anyone with knowledge of her whereabouts to contact police.
