Police are seeking urgent public assistance to help located an 84-year-old man reported missing from Ayr.
Frederick Cockfield left a Becker Road residence around midday today and has failed to return.
Police hold serious concerns for Frederick's welfare as he suffers from a medical condition and may appear confused and dazed.
A land and air search has commenced involving aircraft and State Emergency Service volunteers, focussing on cane fields and properties in the immediate area.
Frederick is described as Caucasian in appearance with balding grey hair. He was last seen wearing an Akubra hat, black and white chequered polo shirt, denim shorts and black shoes. It is believed he was also carrying a golf club.
Residents and property owners in the area of Becker Road at Ayr are asked to check their properties thoroughly and report any information to police immediately.
