Missing man - Port Stephens, NSW

Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate a man missing in Port Stephens, NSW Police say.

Scott McGuire, aged 29, was last seen about 4pm on Sunday (19 November 2017), when he went snorkelling with a friend off Birubi Point at Anna Bay.

When he failed to return to shore or return home, police were notified.

A search of waters between Birubi Point and Boat Harbour yesterday (Monday 20 November 2017), failed to locate Mr McGuire. The search has resumed today (Tuesday 21 November 2017).

Police and his family have concerns for his welfare and are appealing for anyone with information to contact officers.

In particular, any fishermen who were at Birubi Point on Sunday afternoon are urged to come forward.

Mr McGuire is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 180cm-185cm tall, of a slim build, and with shaved brown hair.

He was last seen wearing red board shorts, black flippers, black goggles with clear snorkel and carrying a small mesh bag.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
