Missing man Ronald McMaster located deceased

The search for missing elderly man Ronald McMaster has sadly come to an end after a man's body was discovered in Moornapa this morning (16 May).

Police and emergency services attended Freestone Creek Road shortly after 9am after passers-by spotted a vehicle down an embankment.

An elderly man was located deceased near the vehicle.

At this stage the body is believed to be that of 95-year-old Toorak man Ronald McMaster.

Ronald had been on his way to Bermagui, New South Wales, where he was due to arrive on 5 May.

The alarm was raised by family members after he failed to arrive.

Ronald's death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.

Police would especially like to thank the community, along with the media, and all those who assisted in the search for Ronald.
