The National Rugby League (NRL) congratulates Newcastle Knights player Mitchell Pearce on becoming the 42nd player to reach the 300-game milestone.
Pearce will achieve the feat when he takes the field today at McDonald Jones Stadium against Wests Tigers.
The halfback will become the fifth youngest player to reach 300 games, after Brad Fittler, Darius Boyd, Nathan Hindmarsh and Anthony Watmough.
NRL Chief Executive Andrew Abdo will lead the traditional presentation of the 300-game match ball to celebrate the achievement.
"Mitchell is a remarkable player. He reaches the 300-game milestone at just 31, the fifth youngest in the game's history,'' Mr Abdo said.
"Mitchell debuted almost 14 years ago to the day and should be enormously proud of what he has achieved since then, through 238 matches for the Roosters, including as a Grand Final winning halfback, 61 games for the Knights, and 19 State of Origins.
"Many players reach this milestone at the end of their careers, but Mitchell still has more chapters to complete. He remains one of the most exciting and dynamic players in our game.
"On behalf of the rugby league community I congratulate Mitchell on his outstanding achievement."
