Mitchell Shire's growing recreation spaces

Mitchell Shire Council will receive $4.83 million from the Victorian Government's Growing Suburbs Fund (GSF) to deliver three projects valued at $5.09 million in Broadford, Kilmore and Wallan.

Kilmore Rejuvenation will see $2.42 million from the Growing Suburbs Fund to enhance the town centre with a makeover of Sydney Street in Kilmore. Council will contribute an additional $160,173.

In Wallan, $1.67 million will be provided from the fund for Taylors Creek Shared Pathway with an additional $98,395 from Mitchell Shire Council. The new active trail will connect residents to the town centre.

Broadford parks and play spaces, $720,000 from the fund will be used to develop the park behind the Broadford Community House and to upgrade the Memorial Park play space.

"The new facilities, upgrades and recreation spaces will benefit visitors and small businesses, as well as provide the local community with beautiful spaces to encourage activity and fitness. We have some very impressive projects in the pipeline, and I can't wait to see them delivered."
