NSW Sergeant Police Prosecutor, Blacktown Councillor and passionate community advocate, Mohit Kumar, is your Liberal Candidate for Riverstone.
Joining the NSW Police 25 years ago, Mohit now serves as Sergeant Police Prosecutor and head of court at Blacktown. He has been an active participant across multiple local community organisations, including serving as the President of the Schofields Cricket Club, White Ribbon Ambassador, Sydney Health Partners board member, and former President of the Council of Indian Australians.
Elected as a Liberal Blacktown City Councillor in 2024, Mohit has been fighting for safer local roads and transport improvements by pioneering the Safety by Design initiative, and taking a stand against Council budget mismanagement and rate rises.
Raising his two sons locally with his wife Jennifer, Mohit knows how tough the past few years have been for local families - with the cost of living crisis having a devastating effect on family budgets.
"Watching families and local businesses across our community silently struggling through Labor's cost-of-living crisis has been one of the toughest things to endure," Mr Kumar said. "I have always believed in standing up and fighting for our community and it's needs – this community has not seen the level of investment in services, roads, parks or schools that it deserves."
"We have seen so many local businesses closing, which means more and more local jobs are disappearing – this has to stop. We need to ensure that our small businesses have the support they need to grow, prosper and create jobs - they need a government that understands small business, and that's a Liberal government."
"Our community has been ground zero for Labor's higher tolls, higher costs, higher licence fees and higher regulatory charges, brought on by Labor's three years of mismanagement."
"If elected, I will fight to ensure that our community gets the support and services that we need – from getting the necessary investment in local infrastructure and community amenities, to support for Riverstone families and businesses, and ensure generational prosperity in our area."
