Monash Annual Report 2018/19 out now

The Monash Council Annual Report 2018/19 is now available after Council adopted the report at its meeting last night (October 29).

The Annual Report provides a comprehensive account of Council's performance over the 12-month period, details key achievements and demonstrates our commitment to transparency, accountability and good governance.

Mayor Shane McCluskey said the Annual Report demonstrated that Council performed strongly in the 2018/19 year.

"Our Annual Report is an important document – not only does it fulfil key governance requirements under the

Council set four Major Initiatives in its Council Plan 2017-2021 that were to be undertaken in 2018/19 and all four initiatives were achieved. There were 44 Council Plan initiatives in 2018/19 with 42 (95%) achieved and two (5%) progressing.

The report also highlights Council's major activities, projects and campaigns in 2018/19.

Some of these include:

  • Advocacy campaign #RaiseYourHand4MonashYouth to help secure Federal Government funding for a headspace service in Monash
  • Opening of the refurbished Mount Waverley Community Centre and Track Gallery space
  • The introduction of a user pays additional booked hard waste collection service
  • Adoption of the Monash Urban Landscape and Canopy Vegetation Strategy to protect the 'garden city' character of the municipality.

The Annual Report is available online and hard copies are also available at Civic Centre, branches of Monash Libraries and the Oakleigh Service Centre.
