Monster machines to thrill young and old

More than 50 City vehicles will dig, scoop and beep their way into the Broadwater Parklands when one of the City's most beloved family events returns in 2021.

The 17th annual Monster Machinery Day was postponed last year due to Covid-19.

Divisional Councillor Brooke Patterson said the popular long-running event attracted huge crowds and provided an opportunity for families to check out 'life-sized' toys.

"This free community event is not just for the kids, but the big kid in all of us,'' she said.

"From excavators, graders, loaders, tip trucks, road sweepers, beach tractors, quad bikes to emergency vehicles, you can leave the toy trucks at home and enjoy a great family day out.

"Slap on your hard hat and imagine yourself as a landscaper, lifeguard, beach cleaner, construction worker or dune protector.

"There will be plenty to do and see with rides, live machinery demonstrations, face painting, a jumping castle and food trucks on offer."
