Moonee Ponds supermarket theft

Police are appealing for public assistance to help identify a man who stole from a Moonee Ponds supermarket earlier this month.

It is understood the man entered the Homer Street store and filled up a trolley of goods about 10am on Saturday 9 May.

The man exited the store without making any attempts to pay.

A staff member confronted the man who then produced a knife before fleeing on foot without the goods.

Investigators have released an image of a man who they believe can assist with their enquiries.

Anyone who can identify the man or with any information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
