The Allan Labor Government is keeping people across Melbourne's growing outer west moving and cutting congestion - introducing three new and upgraded bus routes and more than 1,500 extra weekly bus services.
Minister for Public and Active Transport Gabrielle Williams today announced two new bus routes and a major upgrade to an existing route will be introduced from Sunday, 7 December - giving residents in Tarneit, Truganina, Laverton, Wyndham Vale, Mambourin and Harpley Estate better access to trains, schools and jobs.
The new Route 154 will have 728 weekly services, connecting Tarneit, Truganina and Laverton - linking more than 7,600 homes to destinations including Truganina Central Shopping Centre, Bemin Secondary College and Laverton P-12 College and running at a 20-minute peak frequency.
The new Route 194 will have 463 weekly services, connecting residents across Wyndham Vale, Mambourin and Harpley Estate to Wyndham Vale Station - with the route set to operate seven days a week, running every 20 minutes during peak times.
Route 194 will give residents in Cornerstone, Mambourin and Harpley Estate a local bus service for the first time and connect directly to Walcom Ngarrwa Secondary College - linking more than 6,900 homes to public transport.
Almost 400 additional weekly services will be added to Route 153, along with extended operating hours - improving access to the new Wyndham Law Courts, Werribee Hospital and University of Melbourne and Victoria University Werribee campuses - providing better bus services for more than 4,500 households.
These improvements follow the introduction of 470 extra bus services across Melbourne's west in July, including on routes 170, 180, 190 and 192.
Since the launch of Victoria's Bus Plan, the Labor Government has improved more than 126 local bus networks, delivering more than 10,000 new weekly services to give Victorians better, more reliable public transport - with even more services coming online in the months ahead.
Melbourne's west is one of the fastest growing regions in the state, and the Labor Government is delivering $29 billion in road and rail upgrades - including the Melton Line Upgrade and the new West Tarneit Station - reducing congestion, improving public transport and helping families spend more time at home and less time in traffic.
More information, including timetables and route maps, will be available from Friday, 7 November 2025 at transport.vic.gov.au, the PTV app, or by calling 1800 800 007.
